Chelsea are set to submit a €50 million (£42.8m) bid for Sporting midfielder Matheus Nunes, according to reports in Portugal.
Thomas Tuchel's side are yet to strengthen with a new signing this summer and bringing in two new defenders has been the priority.
But according to A Bola, Chelsea are preparing to offer €50m (£42.8m) to Sporting to land Nunes this summer.
The report claims that Chelsea's bid of €45m (£38.6m) plus an additional €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons will be enough to convince Sporting to sell.
It's understood that Nunes is also keen to join Tuchel's side ahead of Wolves, who have already registered their interest but are unable to match Chelsea's proposal.
Wolves have targeted Nunes as their first-choice replacement for Ruben Neves, who was expected to leave the club this summer.
Nunes, who operates as a box-to-box midfielder, scored three goals and registered two assists in 33 league games last season as Sporting finished runners-up behind Porto.
The 23-year-old, who was born in Brazil, has been capped eight times by Portugal's national side.
