Europa League: Aubameyang makes history as Barcelona beat Galatasaray, qualify for last-8

Barcelona striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, on Thursday night, made history following his side's Europa League round of 16 second-leg 2-1 victory against Galatasaray.

Barcelona defeated Galatasaray at the NEF Stadyumu in Turkey, thanks to two goals from Pedri and Aubameyang.

The result means Barcelona have now booked their place in the Europa League last-8.

According to OptaJoe, Aubameyang's goal against Galatasaray means the Gabon captain has now become the first Barcelona player to score in his first two European games on the road since Robert Fernández in the UEFA Cup 1986/87 in Lisbon against Sporting CP and Uerdingen.

Aubameyang has been impressive since joining Barcelona from Arsenal.

The forward joined the Camp Nou club from Arsenal on the last day of the January transfer window this year.

He will now hope to lead Xavi's men to victory when they take on Real Madrid in the LaLiga El Clasico on Sunday.
