And Ben Jacobs of CBS Sports says Saudi Media Group have submitted the £2.7bn (around $3.5bn) offer for Chelsea.

Spearheading the bid is Saudi Media Group owner Mohamed Alkhereiji, a Chelsea fan leading a private consortium with no direct government links, Jacobs adds.

Alkhereiji is CEO of Saudi Media Group's parent company Engineer Holding Group, founded by his father, Abdulelah Alkhereiji.

He has ties to the UK, having studied at the Cass Business School in London and also spending three years working at Deutsche Bank.

There's been huge interest in the club despite sanctions being placed on Abramovich by the UK government amid Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
