Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi, has advised his team on how they can win the Champions League this season.
Messi, who missed a penalty during PSG's Champions League round of 16 first-leg 1-0 win against Real Madrid on Tuesday night, said Mauricio Pochettino's men would have to form a strong and united team both in the defence and attack in a bid to win the European competition.
Recall that Messi's teammate, Kylian Mbappe, scored the only goal of the encounter as PSG defeated Real Madrid in Paris.
Speaking to PSG Magazine, Messi said PSG would try to win the Champions League and every other tournament they are in this term.
The former Barcelona captain said, "The best teams have to be good in every area of the pitch, in all their lines of defence and in attack as well.
"I think it depends on a team's ability to play; as a team depends on it. The forwards can't limit themselves only to attacking and the defenders have to do more than just defend.
"You have to form a strong and united team as much in the defensive phase as in the attacking phase. That's the blueprint that will allow us [PSG] to be a truly competitive team, a team that will try and win the Champions League and every other tournament we are in with a chance of winning."
