Watford manager, Claudio Ranieri has cleared the air on the report that the English Premier League side threatened and stopped Emmanuel Dennis from honouring the Super Eagles call up for the African Cup of Nations.
According to the Italian gaffer, Dennis was in two minds whether or not to play for Nigeria.
Already, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has replaced Dennis with Slavia Prague star, Peter Olayinka after talks with Watford board.
While another Watford star William Troost-Ekong will be at Cameroon, Dennis, who has been outstanding for the English side will not be available for Nigeria.
"I knew they were speaking, the board and the Nigerian board and I accept every decision they find, for me it's finished," Ranieri said ahead of Watford's clash with Tottenham.
"They have a lot of players and they changed the manager and they changed everything. We were ready to give them the players, but they didn't do this.
"The two boards spoke and for me it's okay, I'm only the coach and I accept everything.
"Now I spoke with him, of course he wanted to go to play, but also he wanted to help Watford.
"We respect everybody," Ranieri briefly stated.
