Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has delivered his verdict on Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland amid interest from the Red Devils.
Ronaldo said he is excited by the next generation of players and named Haaland as one of the best young talents.
The Portugal captain rates the 21-year-old but insists the forward star must continue to 'work hard' and keep doing what he has been doing season after season to become 'great'.
Haaland's contract at Dortmund will expire in the summer of 2023 and the Norway international has been linked with a move to Man United.
When asked about Haaland's future, Ronaldo said to The Mirror: "It is hard to choose just one player to say this one will be the best.
"But I think it's exciting to see this new generation of young players, like Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, who are coming through.
"Some players can have one or two great seasons, the really great players are the ones that keep doing it season after season, and that is not so easy to do.
"It takes a lot of hard work, and a lot of commitment."
Manchester United interim manager, Ralf Rangnick, has urged the club's board to sign Haaland from Dortmund as he would transform the side's attack.
The German was working as Red Bull Salzburg's director of football when he was able to secure the signing of Haaland from Molde in 2019.
