Barcelona list 'untouchable' players as Xavi plans to overhaul squad

Barcelona have identified the 'untouchable' players at the club as their manager, Xavi Hernandez, plans to overhaul the squad in the upcoming transfer window.

According to Catalonian television channel Esport3, the untouchable players at Barcelona currently are Ansu Fati, Gavi and Nico Gonzalez.

Fati, Gavi and Gonzalez are the only players who have their places guaranteed at Barcelona, while the rest will have to prove their worth in Xavi's squad between now and the end of the season.

This is coming less than five days after Barcelona were eliminated from the Champions League.

Xavi's men are currently in the seventh position on the La Liga table, with 16 points behind league leaders Real Madrid.

The report added that the Barcelona hierarchy knows they need to make bold decisions to get the team back to where they belong and that is they hired Xavi to replace Ronald Koeman, who was sacked last month.

Barcelona do not view any player other than the aforementioned trio to be indispensable and that includes veterans like Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Gerard Pique.
