Veteran Nollywood actress, Chioma Akpotha alongside other individuals recently took to the streets to conduct a march against violence on women.
The march which seemed to be a massive one was organized with the sole purpose of bringing an end to the abuse and molestation experienced by the feminine gender.
Owing to the increasing rate of women's victimization, the actress and her colleague, Rita Dominic jointly called for an end to gender-based violence in its entirety.
Captioning some videos, she wrote:
"Very early this morning we marched to lend our voices to @warif_ng no tolerance fight against gender violence.
"An estimated 736 million women-nearly one in three-will be victims to sexual violence in their lifetime. Most violence against women is perpetrated by current or former intimate partners. In 2018, one in seven women experienced physical and/or sexual violence from an intimate partner or husband in the previous 12 months alone." - Sophia Michelen
This is a pandemic. Lend your support in whatever way you can to end violence against women and children. Thank you @warif_ng for continuously fighting and helping at risk women and children
