Barcelona legend, Andres Iniesta, has revealed plans to return to the club in the near future after seeing Xavi Hernandez's appointment as the club's new head coach.
Recall that Xavi, a former teammate and a close friend of Iniesta, was recently appointed as Barcelona's new manager following the sacking of Ronald Koeman.
Iniesta, who is still playing at the age of 37, having been at Japanese club, Vissel Kobe, since 2018, said he would like to return to Barcelona at some point.
The midfield maestro left Barcelona in 2018 after more than 400 league appearances, winning several trophies, including the Champions League, LaLiga, among others.
"I don't know what will happen in the future, I would love in some moment of my life to return to Barca. I don't know in what capacity," Iniesta told Sport.
"To return to Barca, to my home, to be able to continue helping in one way or another, but nobody knows the future."
He added, "I feel bad to see Barca like this from a distance. "If things are not going well, it's not nice because you see teammates suffer, new people that can't find the results, the fans. When something you love suffers, it hurts."
