Chelsea midfielder, Jorginho, has claimed his team mate Reece James did not ask to take a late penalty, as they beat Newcastle 3-0 on Saturday.
James put the Blues two goals up with a pair of sublime goals in the second half.
With nine minutes left at St James' Park, Kai Havertz was fouled in the area and a penalty was awarded.
Before Jorginho took the kick, he asked James if he wanted to take it, but the defender turned down the chance even though he was on a hat-trick.
"If he had asked, we would have had a conversation but he didn't.
"He came over to support me," Jorginho told ESPN Brasil after the game.
Speaking about James' opening goal, Jorginho told Chelsea's website: "He's amazing with both feet, so he opened the game for us and it was great, it was a beautiful goal."
