Juventus captain, Giorgio Chiellini, has hit out at Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, for deciding to join the Red Devils very late in the summer transfer window.
Chiellini insisted that Juventus 'paid' for Ronaldo's late departure by losing points at the start of the Serie A season.
Recall that Ronaldo started the current campaign with Juventus, where he had spent the last three seasons, but decided to rejoin his former club Man United in the final week of August for a £19.7million transfer fee.
Speaking to DAZN Italia, Chiellini said, "Ronaldo left on 28 August, it would have been better for us if he had left earlier.
"We paid something for it, a little bit of a shock, we paid something for it in terms of points. If he had left earlier, we would have had time to prepare better."
Juventus currently sit in the seventh position on the Serie A table with 14 points from eight games.
