Wayne Rooney opens up on coaching Man Utd's EPL rivals

Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney, has distanced himself from reports suggesting he is set to coach the club's Premier League rivals, Newcastle United.

Newcastle parted ways with their manager, Steve Bruce, on Wednesday morning.

The search for Bruce's replacement continues with Rooney the latest name to be linked with the managerial job at St James' Park.

But Rooney, who is currently the manager of Derby County, has now insisted he remains committed to his job at Pride Park.

Speaking on the development, Rooney told DerbyshireLive, "I saw that this morning.

"From my point of view, I cannot stop speculation, I get that, but I have had no contact at all with Newcastle United and obviously, as I have stated before, I am committed to this football club [Derby County]."
