Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel, has opened up on defender Antonio Rudiger's new contract situation at Stamford Bridge.
Rudiger is yet to sign a new contract with Chelsea.
His current deal with Chelsea will expire at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old has continued to shine at the heart of the Chelsea defence under Tuchel, starting this season as strongly as he ended the last campaign.
But Tuchel is now hoping a 'solution' can be found between the player and the club in terms of extending his stay at Stamford Bridge.
"I hope that we find the solution, but it's not only about coaches and players and what we wish for," Tuchel was quoted by Chelsea's official website as saying at his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of the Blues' Premier League clash with Tottenham on Sunday.
"I hope they find a solution, but it is not only between coaches and players and what we wish for. It is between the club, the player and the agent.
"He has been excellent, a very consistent player on a high level, calm and focused. Everything is in place, but sometimes players need a bit longer. It is nothing new from our side."
