EPL: Details of Bruno Fernandes' new deal revealed

Bruno Fernandes is close to extending his contract with Manchester United, according to the UK Sun.

It will be a five-year deal for the Portugal midfielder and a raise to more than £250,000 a week.

Fernandes joined United from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 for a fee that could rise to almost £70m.

However, he has remained on the same terms he initially signed for, despite coming a kind of talisman at Old Trafford.

Since his arrival, Fernandes has scored 44 times in 85 matches.

Manchester United have renewed the contracts of Mason Greenwood, Scott McTominay, Dean Henderson and Eric Bailly.

But negotiations with Fernandes have proved a little more complex.

However, it is understood that he "is near to putting pen to paper".
