Premier League champions, Manchester City have rejected the opportunity to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus this summer, according to L'Equipe.
This is despite Juventus demanding just €25 million (£21m) for the Portugal captain.
Although the former Real Madrid star denied this in a statement last week, multiple reports in Europe are insisting that Ronaldo is pushing to leave the Italian club before the transfer deadline.
Ronaldo's agent, Jorge Mendes, is said to be currently in Manchester as he also represents City midfielder, Bernardo Silva, who is looking to leave Man City this summer.
L'Equipe reports that Mendes is attempting to engineer a swap deal which would see Silva join Juventus, while Ronaldo heads in the opposite direction to City.
However, the Italian giants are understood to be holding out for a €25m (£21m) fee for Ronaldo in addition to the swap deal and City are said to have no interest in meeting that valuation.
The Times also reports that Pep Guardiola's side are reluctant to make Ronaldo one of their highest earners at the club given his current earnings at Juventus.
City are still focusing on signing England captain, Harry Kane before the transfer deadline
