Head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has named two countries he wants his team to avoid when the Confederation of African Football, CAF, announces the draw for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON.
Rohr said he wants Nigeria to avoid Egypt and Cote d'Ivoire, adding that none of the six seeded teams would wish to have either of both countries.
The draw has been scheduled for the Yaounde Conference Centre in Cameroon at 18h00 GMT today.
Nigeria is one of the six seeded teams, including hosts Cameroon, defending champions Algeria, Senegal, Tunisia and Morocco.
"I have had good conversations also with my colleagues," Rohr told NationSport.
"Every one of the top 6 wants to avoid Egypt and Côte d'Ivoire.
"But we will accept and respect all the teams."
Recall that the draw was initially postponed in June 2021 due to logistical relations related to the coronavirus pandemic.
The AFCON 2022 is expected to start on January 9 till February 6, with five host cities confirmed for the biennial competition.
