Arsenal are preparing to replace Mikel Arteta with former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte, according to Tuttosport.
The Gunners have started the season in frustrating manner after Brentford secured a memorable 2-0 victory over them on Friday in their first ever Premier League match.
The Sports outlet claims that Arsenal board are looking to bring in Conte, who would in turn, complete the deal for striker Lautaro Martinez.
According to the report, Arsenal would persuade the Italian gaffer to return to London while the manager would bring Martinez along with him.
Conte dumped Inter Milan at the end of last season after guiding them to the Serie A title.
After the defeat to Brentford Arteta said, "I'm disappointed. We started the season against a good opponent. I don't think we deserved anything different.
"They scored from a long throw-in and we didn't have enough presence in the box."
