Lionel Messi has told Paris Saint-Germain manager, Mauricio Pochettino, that he wants to be part of Saturday's match squad, for their Ligue 1 fixture against Strasbourg.
The 34-year-old completed a free transfer from Barcelona this week.
Messi is yet to have any pre-season training, as he's been on holidays after helping Argentina win the Copa America.
However, RMC reports Messi wants to be starting games as soon as possible, although the club's coaching staff want him to work on his sharpness first.
Messi trained with the rest of the PSG squad on Thursday, as Pochettino schemes how to dovetail him into his attack that already has Kylian Mbappe and Neymar.
It appears likely that he will have to wait for the Ligue 1 clash against Reims on August 29 to make his debut, while he continues to build his fitness.
