Departing Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, is set to earn a huge €40 million a year salary after tax at Paris Saint-Germain, L'Equipe reports.
After leaving Barcelona on Thursday following LaLiga's refusal to accept a new five-year contract he had agreed with the Catalan club, Messi now looks poised to begin a new challenge at the Parc Des Princes.
And while Messi had earlier accepted a significant pay reduction at Barcelona, the newspaper is now reporting that the Argentine captain will be earning a massive salary at PSG.
The report added that the forward is being offered an initial two-year contract with the option for a further year.
This means that Messi will be taking home a mind-blowing €769,000-a-week and could potentially rake in €120 million overall and that is not even factoring in performance-related bonuses or a signing-on fee.
Meanwhile, Messi's former Barcelona teammate, Neymar, had offered to give his close friend the No.10 shirt upon his arrival at the French Ligue 1 giants.
