Nigeria's D'Tigers, on Wednesday, paid tribute to music legend, Sound Sultan before their game against Australia.
D'Tigers honoured the late Nigerian veteran singer who was also a well-known basketball fan, with a warmup shirt that has his face on it before their pre-Olympics match against Australia.
They also observed a minute silence for Sound Sultan before the game against Australia.
Sadly, Australia's, Boomers defeated Nigeria with 39 points.
The Boomers had a total of 108 points while Nigeria had 69.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) had dedicated D'Tigers victories over Team USA and Argentina to late Nigerian singer, Sound Sultan.
The NBBF on its verified Twitter page said, "We dedicate the victories against the US & Argentina to the late Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan).
"You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against Team USA was when you gave up the ghost. RIP."
