AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has told eight players they are not needed at the club after taking charge of his first training session on Thursday.
Mourinho joined the Serie A giants in May after Paulo Fonseca left the club after finishing seventh last season.
According to Sky Sports in Italy, the players deemed surplus to requirements include: former Chelsea winger Pedro, Justin Kluivert, Steven Nzonzi and goalkeeper, Robin Olsen.
Others are Ante Coric, Davide Santon, Javier Pastore and Federico Fazio.
The club have been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers' goalkeeper, Rui Patricio, as well as Arsenal's Switzerland midfielder, Granit Xhaka, as Mourinho attempts to build a team capable of challenging for honours in the Italian top flight.
However, Mourinho has denied interest in any player, insisting that he is yet to make contact with any purported target.
