Timo Werner insists he has no intention to quit Chelsea this summer despite his struggles in front of goal in his first season in English football.
Werner has not hidden the fact this has been his 'worst season' in terms of scoring and he has been open about the crisis of confidence he faced following a £47.5million move from Red Bull Leipzig last summer.
He arrived having banged in 28 Bundesliga goals in his final season in Germany, but he has only mustered six goals in 35 Premier League appearances.
Still, he is only the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard to hit double figures for goals and assists in their first campaign in west London and he is confident that things will only improve in his second season at Stamford Bridge.
'Of course,' Werner told the Daily Telegraph when asked if he wanted to stay at Chelsea ahead of their Champions League final against Manchester City on Saturday.
'In terms of scoring and missing chances, it was the worst season. But in the end I still have 27 goal contributions.
'I think I'm the first in our team for that, so it was not everything bad and I don't think about leaving the club this year, for sure not.
'And also for the next year because I think we have a very good team and I hope to come back to scoring and that I can do everything that's expected of me.'
He added: 'I think a lot of people's expectations for me, outside the club but also inside the club, were very high because of my goalscoring record.
