Koeman admits he may be sacked as Messi leaves Barcelona

Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, is not confident he will remain in his post next season.

Ahead of this season's last fixture against Eibar, Koeman bemoaned a lack of support from the club, as their title hopes fell apart.

The 58-year-old still has one year to run on his contract, but it is believed Barca is already exploring replacements.

A run of just one win in their last five matches has ended Barca's hopes of winning the league.

Regardless of this weekend's result, Barcelona will finish outside the top two for the first time in 13 years.

Koeman and club president Joan Laporta are to hold talks in the coming days.

"I honestly don't know if I will continue as Barca coach," Koeman said at a news conference on Friday.

"We had lunch a couple of weeks ago but agreed to speak again after the season. We will see. I've always said I want to fulfil my contract, but the president has the last word."

Koeman will be without captain Lionel Messi for the game.

The Argentine has been given permission to leave Barcelona on holiday ahead of next month's Copa America tournament.
