Former Manchester United coach, Rene Meulensteen, has advised the club to sell Paul Pogba this summer.
Meulensteen, who was Sir Alex Ferguson's former assistant at Man United, wants the Red Devils to use the money from the sale of the France midfielder to sign Aston Villa's Jack Grealish because the England international has the suitable DNA to play for the Old Trafford club.
Pogba cost Man United a club-record £89million to sign back in 2017 from Juventus.
"Pogba creates an imbalance in the team because he has to play, he cannot play as one of the two pivots. Defensively people run off him, so he does not do his defensive job," Meulensteen told Stadium Astro.
"You play him from the left OK you try to manufacture something there. I am not sure. Maybe the best way is to say, can we get some money from him [Pogba] and look at what we need."
Meulensteen added: "I think with the stature of Pogba comes expectations. I don't think overall, he has lived up to those for whatever reasons. So if I could, I would cash-in on him and reshape the team.
"The other problem is that Pogba has never opened up to the fans about committing himself to Manchester United, how much he wants to play for this club. These are big issues for me.
"A player like Grealish would have the DNA to play for Man Utd and the stature for it, and he would have the ambition but it would change the outlook of the team. He's a ball hogger, he likes to dribble and create things for himself."
