New AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho, has revealed who convinced him to join the Italian Serie A club.
Mourinho said the incredible passion of Roma fans convinced him to accept the job.
The Portuguese agreed to a three-year contract with Roma on Tuesday.
He will remain at Roma until the 2024 season.
The 58-year-old former Tottenham Hotspur coach will assume the position ahead of the 2021-22 season.
Speaking after signing the contract, Mourinho told the club's website, "Thank you to the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and to be part of their vision.
"It's the same ambition and drive that has always motivated me and together, we want to build a winning project over the upcoming years.
"The incredible passion of the Roma fans convinced me to accept the job and I can't wait to start next season."
