Recall that Boca Juniors have shown interest in signing Cavani in the past, with the report previously reporting that the forward had told the club president, Juan Roman Riquelme, that he would join the Argentine giants in the future.
Cavani has been sidelined since Man United's 1-1 draw with West Brom last month.
The 34-year-old also missed the Red Devils' 0-0 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
He joined Man United on a free transfer last October from Paris Saint-Germain.
