Neymar has informed Paris Saint-Germain that he will only sign a new contract at the club if the French giants complete a deal for Barcelona's Lionel Messi next summer, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Brazilian international has been linked with a move away from France over the past 18 months.
Meanwhile, Messi is out of contract at Barca by June 2021 and almost left the club earlier this year after falling out with former president, Josep Maria Bartomeu.
However, it is understood Neymar's future in Paris, will be determined whether cash-rich PSG can stump up the funds to bring in Messi.
Neymar, whose contract expires in 2022, intensified speculation over his future by revealing his desire to play with Messi again, after the pair won two LaLiga titles, three Spanish Cups along with the 2015 Champions League and Club World Cup titles during a four-year spell.
Speaking after PSG's 3-1 win over Manchester United on Wednesday, Neymar said: "What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch."
