Gabriel Magalhaes is scheduled to fly to London today, finish up his £27m move to Arsenal from Lille, SportsMail reports.
However, the 22-year-old will have to be in quarantine for 14 days, before meeting his new team-mates.
The Gunners won the race for Magalhaes, who was also chased by Napoli and Manchester United, in a big boost for Mikel Arteta's rebuilding project at the Emirates.
Should the Brazilian defender complete his transfer to Arsenal in the coming days as expected, he will face a wait before joining his new team-mates in training.
There has recently been a spike in COVID-19 cases across France, meaning it is now on Britain's quarantine list.
That means anyone coming to the UK from the country has to self-isolate for 14 days.
Arsenal face Liverpool this weekend in the Community Shield and Magalhaes will be unavailable for the traditional curtain-raiser.
