Arsenal are ready to pull out all the stops to finally end their Mesut Ozil £18million contract nightmare.
Ozil has one year left on his current deal at the club, which sees him pocket wages of £350,000-per-week, however, he didn't feature at any point after the season's restart.
Ozil seems happy to sit on the bench for another year
He was in Turkey when Arsenal secured their 14th FA Cup triumph earlier this month.
The German seems prepared to sit tight and see out the remainder of his contract but the Mirror reports that the club want to reach an agreement to bring an end to this saga.
It claims they are ready to make an offer to pay him off to help free up money in their wage bill for transfer business this summer.
Ozil does not appear to be a part of Mikel Arteta's plans
Arsenal are looking to shake up the squad this summer with Chelsea forward Willian set to sign while club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, whose contract also expires in June 2021, has been offered a new deal to stay.
They're also reportedly trying to offload midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos as well as Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who spent the season on loan at Roma.
Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been linked with a shock move to north London rivals Tottenham while Sead Kolasinac's future looks uncertain.
Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey has been heavily linked with a move to the club as has wantaway Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha, who supported the Gunners growing up.
However, money is clearly tight at Arsenal with the club announcing 55 redundancies last week as they attempt to reduce the wage bill.
There are no obvious takers for Ozil, with clubs in Turkey not being able to afford the wage he'll want.
