Super Eagles star reveals difference between playing for Nigerian and his European club

Joe Aribo says playing for Rangers and Nigeria feels the same as the fans expect just one thing from you, and it is victory.

The midfielder was handed his Super Eagles debut call-up during preparations for international friendly games against Ukraine and Brazil.

Aribo did not disappoint in both goals as he found the back of the net in the two games thereby making a strong impression in the minds of Nigerian fans.

He, however, said that the feeling of playing in front of supporters who demand nothing but victory has helped him at the international level.

"I'd say playing in front of the big crowds, and we've got 50,000 over at Rangers, so it's like no different and there's an expectation at Rangers to win, where also that's like Nigeria, expected to win", Aribo told Rangers TV.

"So, I mean, that's helped me bring that to the international stage. Literally, it is no different to Rangers.

"I mean, we are expected to win every game so it is just like okay, it is the norm now, it's literally become the norm for me so it's no different to being at Rangers."

The midfielder kicked off his professional career with Kinetic Academy before joining Staines Town youth outfit and then won the club's academy player of the year award six years ago.

He was promoted to the team's first team the following year and played 22 topflight matches before joining Charlton in 2015.
