Barcelona senior officials have told manager Quique Setien that his job is safe.
The Spanish champions are currently struggling to keep pace with Real Madrid in the title race and sit in second place four points behind.
However, Setien has been assured he will be in charge next season, even if their title defence fails this year.
Barca president, Josep Bartomeu, sacked Ernesto Valverde in January despite back-to-back titles and with Barca top of LaLiga table on goal difference.
There have been claims that some players are not impressed with Setien or his style and he would be fired.
But Bartomeu, who witnessed the 4-1 win at Villarreal, insists he has no regrets over Valverde's dismissal.
"Setien will obviously continue," Bartomeu told radio station Rac1 on Tuesday.
"At this moment I'm pretty happy with how the team has evolved and in the last couple of games, we have seen the improvements Setien has made.
"I don't regret the decision to sack Valverde.
"We needed to give the team a boost and Setien has brought new ideas and new sensations with him."
