Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has stated that constrictive criticisms from his friends and especially his wife have made him become a better player, Complete Sports reports.
The Leicester City midfielder joined the Premier League club from Belgian Pro League club Genk in January, 2017 and has earned his place in the starting line-up.
His impressive performances have attracted top European clubs including to Real Madrid, Chelsea and Arsenal who are all jostling for his signature.
Ndidi, heaped plaudits on his wife Chidinma and his small circle of friends who have kept on his toes in recent years.
"My circle of friends is very small, and they are people who are straight in their assertions. Even at Leicester City, the players, the coaches, and the staff are straight with me," Ndidi told the Super Eagles media team.
"That alone is like an encouragement to me; they make me understand life in general and how I am performing.
"Kudos also must go to my wife; she is always honest with me as it concerns my game, telling me the right things and I don't joke with her criticisms because I know she wants me to be a better player and my boss at Leicester too."
And just recently, Ndidi announced the arrival of his first child with wife Chidinma who he married in May, 2019.
The Leicester City star disclosed that the adorable baby girl has been named Jaina as he posted of himself carrying the jewel on his Instagram handle.
Ndidi branded himself as the most fortunate man in the world after marrying long term girlfriend Dinma in Abuja last year.
"I'm fortunate to know that God is gracious - Jaina," he captioned the post while carrying the baby. He was also pictured leaving the hospital alongside his wife.
