The northern state of Zamfara has announced that it has no more coronavirus cases after it discharged the last of its patients.
Channels TV reported that Zamfara made the confirmation on Saturday, May 30 through its health ministry.
The report quoted the state commissioner for health, Yahaya Kanoma, as saying that all its isolation centres are now empty of patients.
Kanoma said the state's confirmed cases announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) were 76.
Out of this number, 71 patients recovered and were discharged from isolation centres after testing negative twice.
Unfortunately, the remaining five patients lost the battle against the pandemic disease and died.
