Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris reportedly spent an eye-watering £15,000 to buy a specially-trained guard dog to keep vigil at his home.
Lloris is said to have procured the services of the dog just weeks before his Spurs team-mate Dele Alli was robbed at knifepoint at his London home.
Two robbers in masks are said to have gained access of Alli's £2million north London home in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 13.
The aggressors managed to make away with precious jewellery which included expensive watches worth thousands of pounds.
The terrifying incident left the Tottenham forward with minor injuries on his face.
It has now emerged a number of Premier League stars have been snapping up guard dogs to beef up their home security during lockdown.
ESPN reports, Lloris is among them, with the shot-stopper spending a fortune to invest in protection of his wife Marine and three children.
Marine recently gave fans a glimpse of the pooch as she shared a photo of the dog standing on a climbing frame in the back of their garden.
French duo Paul Pogba and Alexander Lacazette have also recently bought guard dogs, with the former investing in a rottweiler as the latter settled for a blue Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
