Barcelona center-back Samuel Umtiti may have been ruled out of La Liga resumption following the calf injury he suffered during one of their training sessions last week.
The Frenchman recently returned to the club along with other players for the first time since March when the league was suspended due to the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
However, the World Cup could not last beyond the second day before picking up an injury, but it is unsure when he will be fit to re-join his colleagues.
Barcelona confirmed the development on their official website, saying: "the first-team player Samuel Umtiti has a right injury and his recovery will dictate his return to training.
"The injury came about in Saturday's individual training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
Quique Setien's men were allowed back on the training ground on Friday after testing negative to COVID-19 and they were separated into three pitches in order to undergo sessions.
They also embraced this patter in a bid to maintaining social distancing while getting fit and ready for league actions.
As it stands, the Catalan sit atop of the table with two points better than arch-rival Real Madrid with 11 games to wrap up the 2019-20 season.
