Revealed: Here is what Drogba did that made him lose Ivory Coast FA presidency election

Former Tottenham star Didier Zokora has finally explained why his former teammate at the national team Didier Drogba failed to get a vote in the recent Ivory Coast FA election.

After his successful career in football playing for Premier League side Chelsea, Didier Drogba then decided to move to football administration by ruling his country's FA.

But despite how popular he is in his country and Africa, Didier Drogba failed to get any vote in the Ivory Coast presidential elections out of the 14 votes.

The result of the election came as a big surprise to all football fraternities that a whole Drogba failed to get any vote in his country out of 14 in the FA.

According to the report on Complete Sports, Didier Zokora who was one of the electorates stated clearly that Drogba neglected his duties as the honorary president of the FA and also failed to declare his intention to contest on time.

"What we are saying is that Didier Drogba, as honorary president of the Association has never been present at a single meeting.

''He did not even inform us of his candidacy for the presidency of Fif.

It's a huge disrespect," Zokora is quoted on Radio Jam by Afrik Foot.

Zokora who represented Ivory Coast national team for 14 years also explained that Drogba failed to come up with convincing ideas on how he can develop football in his country.

"Drogba's program is not convincing because it doesn't make the most of Ivorian football.

Mr Sory Diabaté offered us a very interesting project and that's why we support him.

"Also, Drogba is not even surrounded by people who have deep knowledge of Ivorian football. Mr Sory Diabaté has a better grasp of the subject than Didier Drogba," Zokora added.
