Three more bodies have been recovered from the 8-storey building under construction that collapsed in Owerri, the Imo state capital on Thursday April 30. The building collapsed at about 4pm when artisans were still working.
The number of casualties recorded in the building collapse along Yar'Adua Drive in Owerri, Imo State, has risen to 15, according to Mr Evans Ugoh, Head of the Imo/Abia State Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency.
A woman who was reportedly selling consumables to the workers on the site is said to be trapped under the rubble alongside her two children.
Efforts are being made to recover others still trapped in the building. Twelve persons have so far been rescued.
