With age no longer on his side, Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has tipped six other players to succeed him and become great.
At 35, Ronaldo has won everything possible for club and country which has also earned him record titles including five Ballon d'Or, and as he moves into the twilight of his career, which other players have the potentials to succeed him? As the world's best, Ronaldo is keeping an eye on potential youngsters and in 2017, he named six players who could succeed him when he was asked.
"A very good question. I see some with great potential: Asensio, Mbappe, Neymar, Dembele, Hazard, Rashford, and some others.
"In the next generation there are at least 10 players with very, very great potential," Ronaldo said via The Daily Mail.
Asensio has been remarkable since he made his debut for Real Madrid as he was instrumental to the team that won the 2017/2018 Champions League, but despite his talent, injuries have reduced his shine.
At 21, Mbappe has shown he will become great as he already has an unprecedented 130 career goals. He came fourth in last year's Ballon d'Or.
He has already won the World Cup as well. Neymar became the world's most expensive player in 2017 and he has severally been described as the de facto world's best after Messi and Ronaldo.
He has already made the top 3. Dembele replaced Neymar at Barcelona and he has shown glimpses of quality despite injury problems.
Ronaldo also tipped Eden Hazard and Marcus Rashford to continue their ascension in the game.
