Former Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti recounts two different occasions when Nigerian legend Taribo West prayed for about two hours or more until they lost appetite for the invitation.
The 46-year-old Argentine spent most part of his senior career at the San Siro - winning 16 major titles including one Champions League and five Serie A trophies among others.
Zanetti revealed that his former teammate had called himself and a few more players to come and rejoice with him after his wedding and on one of his birthdays.
However, West turned the celebrations to religious nights following his close to two or more hours prayer.
Zanetti on Taribo West: "He disappeared in January. Returned after a month & said 'I got married, a month of vacation is expected in my country."
"He invited us to dinner, we arrived at 8-9 & he prayed. An hour, 2, 3 hours. We went away without dinner."
Former Inter captain Zanetti also added: "One day, he invites us to his home for his birthday at 7 pm.
"We arrive at 8-9. He started praying an hour, 2 & 3 hrs. We were too hungry. When finished he tells us that the birthday is over & we left without eating."
Zanetti's revelation came a few days after Ronaldo de Lima and Christian Vieri gave the account of their experience playing with the Nigerian icon.
