Chelsea might be edging closer to reaching an agreement with their players over accepting a pay cut as part of their response to the coronavirus pandemic.
The club's director Marina Granovskaia has opened talks with captain Cesar Azpilicueta in their bid to be on the same page over the matter.
As part of their plan to help the situation, the Blues owner Roman Abramovich is said to have surrendered the Millennium Hotel at Stamford Bridge for NHS staff to use.
According to Goal.com the Premier League had proposed that players across the topflight should accept about 30 percent wage cut.
Although the idea is not popular among the EPL players who chose to have their money go directly to causes that would aid in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Meanwhile, a number of English topflight stars disclosed Players Together campaign would donate funds to the NHS charities in a bid to conquer COVID-19.
This, however, leaves each club to discuss terms with their players on what percentages of their wages they will release to fight the scourge.
The publication claims the Stamford Bridge outfit planned to reduce their squad wages by 30 percent, but they might have to accept that figure may end up being less.
Chelsea had earlier this week confirmed that they will pay their casual working staff in full for fixtures that have been postponed.
