Real Madrid Sergio Ramos landed a suitable counter punch on Ajax Amsterdam after both parties launched a social media war on each other.
The Dutch League giants were the first to fire a missile after sharing a throwback picture of their 4-1 win over Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu in March 2019.
It was a superb comeback for the Oranje Boys who lost the first leg at the Yohan Cryuff Arena 2-1 a couple of weeks before.
It would be recalled that the 34-year-old missed the second leg after being handed a two-game ban for intentionally bagging a yellow card in the Netherlands.
Ajax shared a picture of the defender while gesturing to his teammates who probably were not looking him with their forward Dusan Tadic celebrating his side's third goal.
The duo struck almost the same pose with their right hand far above their heads while standing and the club captioned it: ♂️#RetroMatchday #reaaja.
Minutes after that, Ramos fired his rebound which went straight to the roof of the net after sharing pictures of himself lifting the Champions League title four different times, saying: @AFCAjax#RetroChampionsDay.
That was supposed to be a shut up for the Dutch side but instead took it with the spirit of sportsmanship and commended the veteran defender.
However, they did not stop there as they also reminded him that they have equally lifted the prestigious title four times.
Perhaps the Spaniard was no longer in the mood as he failed to find another response for last year's UCL semifinalists.
