Vanessa Bryant has renamed her husband Kobe's Mamba Sports Foundation to Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation as the grieving widow of the late NBA legend moves to cement the legacy of her late daughter Gianna.
Bryant tragically died aged 41 in an unfortunate helicopter crash in Calabasas California on Sunday night, January 26.
The NBA legend and business mogul died with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and seven other people aboard.
Bryant was on his way to a basketball match when the incident happened and his death has since plunged the sports world into mourning.
Kobe leaves behind his window Vanessa and his three daughters including Bianca and Natalia, and assets worth a staggering $2 billion.
Petitions are now ongoing calling on NBA body to make 'Mamba' the new face of their logo, with over 18,000 signatures already gathered since the news of his tragic passing broke.
Distraught Venessa has now announced that the Mamba Sports Foundation will be renamed to accommodate her daughter Gianna's name.
In a statement made on her Instagram handle, the 37-year-old widow, however, posited that the name change does not affect the mission.
