Pace is one of the key attributes of the modern game with many of the world's elite possessing the trait.
The Premier league is full of players that have the ability to turn defence into attack within a matter of seconds, with Mohamed Salah and Adama Traore coming to mind.
However, stats from Opta tell us that neither are in the top ten fastest sprint times in the Premier League this season and the player leading the way may come as a surprise to you all.
Sitting at the top of the pile with a top speed of 37.55 km/h is Leicester City's Caglar Soyuncu in a game against Crystal Palace in November.
The Turkish international has been a surprise package for the Foxes this season as he filled the void left by Harry Maguire after the Englishman became the world's most expensive defender in a move to Manchester United.
Soyuncu more than likely picked up the quickest speed of the season so far when sprinting back from a set-piece he had moved forward for, but ultimately, the centre-back will remember that day at Selhurst Park for scoring his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win.
Leicester City appear on the list two more times as Harvey Barnes and Hamza Choudhury recorded speeds of 37.03 and 36.93 respectively.
Meanwhile Manchester United appear on the list twice through Fred and Daniel James while forward Anthony Martial, who is known for his pace, is nowhere to be seen.
Another notable absentee among the list of names is any player who represents Liverpool.
The runaway league leaders are a matter of weeks away from lifting the Premier League for the very first time and seem to be breaking every record along the way, but in a team full of fast thinkers not one of them has recorded a speed within the top ten.
