Angel Di Maria has hit out at Manchester United, for forcing him to wear their iconic no. 7 shirt during his spell at Old Trafford.
The Argentina forward joined United from Real Madrid, in a then club-record £59.7million transfer in August 2014.
After his arrival, Di Maria asked for the no.11 shirt, which Adnan Januzaj was wearing at the time.
Instead, he was pressured to taking the no.7 shirt.
Di Maria spent only a season with United, before joining PSG in a £44.3m deal in August 2015.
When asked by Ligue 1 why he took the no.11 shirt with the Ligue 1 champions, he replied: "I don't really know. When I arrived, I saw that the No 11 was available."
"It's a shirt No I wore a lot when I was younger and I was keen to get once again.
"At Real Madrid, No 11 was already taken, so I took 22. At Manchester United they gave me No 7, I didn't get a choice. I would have liked 11 but there we are. Here, I had a choice, so I chose 11!"
