Former Manchester United star, Jaap Stam says new striker, Odion Ighalo, was not the Red Devils' first choice after the 30-year-old joined Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on transfer deadline day (Friday).
He also backed Ighalo to score more goals for Man United.
We reported that Manchester United signed Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Greenland Shenhua until the end of the season.
"If you are playing with better players, and hopefully now he is playing with better players, you will get more opportunity to score as well," Stam told Sky Sports.
"I'm sure he has got the ability. He wasn't the first choice, but I assume that people have seen him, trust him, and know what he can bring to the squad.
"If you have players around you who can play you into certain positions to score, then he's probably going to score more goals."
