Espanyol vs Barcelona ended in a thrilling derby draw as Barcelona shared spoils with their rivals, but the game did not end without Lionel Messi not producing another magic moment to remember.
The Argentine forward was on his prodigious best in an entertaining fixture played at the RCDE Stadium, ripping 4 defenders apart before passing to Luis Suarez.
Initially, the game began with David Lopez handing the home side an early lead, but the goal was later canceled out by Luis Suarez.
Arturo Vidal put Barca back into the lead, only for a late goal from Wu Lei for Espanyol ending the game in 2-2 stalemate as Barcelona remain on top of La Liga by goal-difference.
But another highlight of the night was Messi's solo effort in the 65th minute of action which saw him put four Espanyol defenders on terrible run.
Messi produced one of his best nutmegs before passing to Suarez. The Uruguayan fired an instant shot at goal but, unfortunately Espanyol goalkeeper Diego Lopez turned it away.
Barcelona fans have now reacted to the footage of the classy moment after La Liga's official Twitter account posted it with the caption: "So nearly the assist of the season from Leo Messi!"
"Absolute INSANE run from Lionel Messi. Started from Baraa half, ran past give players then a nutmeg pass to Suarez," a Barca fan wrote.
"Lionel Messi. What a move," another commented.
