Mayweather beats Ronaldo and Messi to Forbes' highest-paid athlete of decade with $915m (see list)

Retired American boxer, Floyd Mayweather, has been ranked Forbes' highest-paid athlete of the decade ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

The boxing legend clinches the number one spot on the list which sums up all earnings from world's biggest sports spanning a period of a decade.

'The Moneyman' was adjudged to have raked in the biggest shares of spoils in sports from 2010 to 2019 following his mega fights with Manny Pacquiao and Irish UFC star Conor MacGregor.

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo came second on the list which also has stars from the worlds of golf, tennis, basketball and Formula 1.

The Portuguese benefited from huge endorsement deals to book the second place with a staggering $800 million.

Barcelona ace Lionel Messi capped the top three with a whopping figure of $750 million, also benefiting from massive sponsorship deals.

Basketball star LeBron James came fourth with $680m while tennis star Roger Federer was five on the list with $640m.
