How Premier League table looks like after Arsenal's embarassing defeat against Man city

Premier League's week 17 saw Liverpool open a 10-point lead atop the standings, with their 2-0 win over struggling Watford on Saturday, December 14, leaving them with 49 points.

Leicester, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Norwich remain second, with Man City's 3-0 emphatic win over Arsenal at Emirates enough to see them close the gap between them and the Foxes to just four points.

Chelsea appear to be loosing their grip on the top four after suffering a a fourth defeat in five Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge in the hands of a resilient Bournemouth side.

Dan Gosling's late goal was the only difference in that particular clash, with the midfielder striking an 84th-minute winner when he flicked the ball over Kepa Arrizabalaga.

The result now leaves the Blues fourth, just three points behind a resurgent Tottenham who picked a 2-1 crucial win at Molineux against Wolves.

The two sides are scheduled to face off next next Sunday, December 22, with a convincing win for Jose Mourinho's men sufficient to leapfrog Chelsea to fourth.

Man United's disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Everton saw them miss out on a glorious chance to go fifth, and now remain sixth with 25 points.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were perhaps the weekend's biggest losers, with their 3-0 defeat to City suspending their dreams of the breaking into the top four any soon.

Gunners sit ninth on the log with 22 points, but face the prospect of dropping to 10th should Crystal Palace earn a draw or victory over Brighton.

The drop zone remain unchanged, with Southampton, Norwich and Watford occupying the bottom three places.
