The holiday season is finally upon us and soon, we will be bidding farewell to a 365 days of working so hard. As much as it is only natural for you to feel like going on a "vacation" to relax and let off some steam, it is a little cliché. Why not spice it up a bit with a truckload of gifts? Ok, maybe not a truckload but a reasonable amount of item(s). This is also dependent on what your spouse likes, assuming you know what his or her love language is.
Sometimes, knowing the love language isn't the final solution, you may find yourself racking the top of your brain on what will make the perfect gift item.
Without piercing a hole into your pocket, these are a few suggestions that can also serve as a good alternative to what you [may] already have mapped out. As is said "Ladies first".
For Her
As stated above, you need to be aware of what your partner likes; this will guide how you choose. And if sadly, you don't stick to something feminine and sweet, but not cliché.
- A Hamper
This may sound cliché because with festive periods comes hampers. But, what is in the hamper makes it stand out. How about you substitute the box of chocolates or whatever comes in it for a basket filled with heavenly scented candles and most of her favourite beauty brands and products. An array of the latest Kylie Jenner lip glosses, lipsticks, powder, mascara, a set of multi-purpose brushes etc. You can also throw a thing or two that you are sure she likes. This can make your woman leap with joy.
- An All-Expense Paid Trip To...
Yeah, I mentioned travelling might be a little cliché but all trips don't require you hopping on a plane or train. An all-expense paid trip can be to the spa. Every lady enjoys getting a properly done massage that relaxes every bone in her body, especially if she's your pro in bed gymnastics. The [body] treatments? Ah, yes those! We love facials, soaking up our feet in jelly-based foam treatment and getting our nails done. So, look up the BEST spa in town and surprise her with a day of relaxation.
- The "12 days of Christmas" Magic
I bet you recall singing "On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me...", well, let's tweak that a bit. How about doing a twelve days of Christmas surprises for your partner? It could be twelve days of cooking all her favourite meals and something new, or twelve days of exploring all the fun places you couldn't through the course of the year as a result of your busy schedules, or twelve days of binge watching your favourite shows indoors.
This doesn't mean you are should rule out numbers one and two and works vice versa. Let's be guided, please.
For Him
To all the ladies out there who have a man [or two?] please do better this season. No more boxer-shorts-gifting to the love of your life. He deserves better and an equal level of pampering. So here goes the idea list:
- A Gift Box
Not an empty gift box. Many stores are getting really creative these days. There are really dapper gift boxes that contain essential fashion items. For instance, a box could contain [all leather products] a wallet, wristwatch, belt, cufflinks, neck ties, sometimes a pair of shoes. Some even throw in a few beauty products like beard oil. All these come in handy because you don't have to worry about searching for where to buy these items individually and are sold at a highly discounted price (that will ideally be the price of one item from the box). So, it's always a good buy.
- Games? Yes, Please!
Few months back, FIFA 20 was released and the joy expressed on social media by the menfolk could not be summed up. So yeah, men like playing games. Gift him the latest release of his favorite game and if he's lacking the pads and console, make it a complete collection.
So, while all these are suggestions, feel free to add what you think your partner will deeply appreciate. Happy holiday!
