Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has made it clear that he is proud of himself being the best player in the Italian Serie A after losing the 2019 Ballon d'Or award to Lionel Messi.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi won his sixth Ballon d'Or award on Monday, November 2, beating biggest rival Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk.
Cristiano Ronaldo did not attend the ceremony in Paris, but instead attended the award night in Italy where he was named the best player for the 2018/19 season.
Last season during Cristiano Ronaldo's debut season with Juventus, the former Real Madrid star scored 26 goals for the Old Lady to win the Serie A.
"I'm proud to be the best player in Serie A.
"I thank my teammates and everyone who voted for me. Now I'll work to be here again next year,'' Ronaldo was quoted by Marca as saying.
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored six goals this season for Juventus after 11 games played.
Last term, he helped the Old Lady to reach the quarterfinal of the Champions League before been sent out by Ajax.
Juventus have already qualified for the knock out stages for this season's Champions League as they are topping Group D with 13 points after five games.
